William Shakespeare I am not, but I do enjoy a finely crafted turn of phrase, at which Mr. Shakespeare is an expert.

Actually, this quote is to a purpose. It underlines the fleeting nature of living in this fallen world and all too often our candle is brief. This is something to remember when life seems to shrink into the narrow confines of politics, which is more liken to prostitution than anything else.

When I began this blog a little over a year ago, I wanted to interject some kind of sanity into the national discussion, a small, infinitesimal part to play, to be sure.  But it’s still a part.
