Yesterday I watched part of a Foxnews Special called Obsession: The Threat of Radical Islam. In many ways I feel vindicated because someone in the mainstream media is unambiguously pointing out the threat of Islamic fundamentalism. In other ways, I was still shocked at the radical Islam’s vitriolic, ingrained hatred against Israel and us. I was also gratified that this special also showed the duplicity of our enemies– how they would preach peace to Western media, and then turn around boast about destroying the United States and the UK to their own brethern.

I wonder, however, what are the true numbers of Muslims subscribing to this murderous ideology. Some say they are just a fringe group, consisting of unhinged zealots who latch on to radical Islam to satiate their madness. Others say that Islam is a radical faith all together. One thing is for sure, Islam does not mean “peace”. It means “submission“.

There is, also, nothing in Islam’s history that would suggest it is a religion of peace. People often forget or are ignorant of the fact that most of the Mediterranean world were fair-skinned. The Carthaginians (i.e. North Africans) were not Arabs, nor were they black. Istanbul used to be called Constantinople, the seat of the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine’s built the Christian cathedral of Hagia Sophia, but now that cathedral is a mosque.

It is clear that Islam had spread across the world by the sword. In fact, the Crusades, which is popularly believed to be evil and which is reviled almost everywhere, was the response of the West to over four centuries of Muslim invasion and plunder and conquest.

I don’t know how many Muslims try to live out a peaceful life and how many attempt to carry out their jihad against the Jews and America. Perhaps this a resumption of the age old conflict between Islam and the West. And if it is, Europe has already fallen just by sheer demographic implosion. For instance, all the positive population growth in France is attributed to the growth of the Muslim population there, whether by immigration or by birth. The French, on the other hand, are not even having enough babies to replace themselves, and we will see a Muslim Europe within our lifetime.

For the past couple of years, people who pointed out these facts, myself included, were scoffed at, belittled, and general reviled for being intolerant, racists, and even evil. It does no one any good to have our heads stuffed in the sand, like a three-year-old child believing that if he closed his eyes tightly, the world would just go away. Reality does not work that way; and by willfully blinding ourselves, we only invite more calamity to befall us.
